I got tired of working on other issues and decided to start reworking D14: Unholy ahead of schedule. It's got an entirely new look, and I'm expanding the elder werewolf plot. It should be ready to go soon.

Yes thank you very much for working on the server. There is far too much complaining going on and asking for special stuff that u cant concentrate on the changes for the server to get finished. Thanks Again

Ivan, could you explain what's preventing you from getting past the pirates?

Do you mean the Clarity spell? There are no more mind immunity items left in the module, except for the artifacts.

I use protection from evil and that gives mind immune, supposing they are evil... Idea

The wizard in the tower always strips my buffs, confuses me the procedes to beat on me like a red-headed step child. Beating Roberts is easy compared to this one wizard. It was easier with Ziggy, I could tank and Zig would make him into swiss cheese. I really would like to see a high lvl. archer be available for hire soon.

Ah, good point about the high level henchmen. I still need to do more work there, to include programming henchmen advice (they'll give custom advice for the area you are in).

I'm sorry to say I'm still working on D14. There's a lot of custom work there to be done, plus reworking the monsters and areas. Most of the monsters will return after reworking, but there are several new ones, some with custom attacks.

OK, the new D14 is coming along very nicely, but I still have a lot of work to do. There are more monsters, more custom scripting, completely new terrain, etc. I want to warn everyone up front that it's very difficult for me to tell what's reasonable or not at these high dungeon levels. It's very possible some of the monsters will be too easy or too difficult. Sometimes I think a monster is going to be overpowered only to find it's no challenge at all. The opposite is also true.

Please remember: Sometimes it's better to run away than stay and fight (and die). The new D14 has a few (avoidable) encounters that are guaranteed to be extremely difficult even for players who have beaten the Vile King. You can't wear some of this stuff down, either. Some things recover spells automatically and regenerate at very high rates. There might also be ways for players to improve their odds...

I also think I've added some stuff that requires a bit of thought. Hasty play will create situations that nobody could survive. That's one of the reasons why I haven't updated lately, as I want it to be a new challenge for the old timers.

As always, please let me know immediately if you find anything that's broken. This next update also incorporates a large number of bug fixes.

Don't want to disappoint you, but there are no new items in this update. I will load the changes this weekend whether or not the dungeon is finished. It's playable right now. It just doesn't have the plots finished. I'll do those next.

I ran a test character through it, and it was very deadly unless played with some caution. I'll have to monitor play in it and adjust the monsters accordingly.

Loading D14 as is. It's not finished but it's playable. I don't want to put off the other updates another week.

I noticed Dark was running her maximized barbarian (D16 items), so I couldn't get a good feel for the difficulty. It should be difficult enough to kill anyone who isn't careful, but it must not be too difficult for players who don't have access to all the higher dungeon equipment. Keep in mind that new players don't necessarily have the benefit of loot hand-me-downs (or transfers) and have no way to reach D16 without going through D14 first.

So, how's the difficulty looking for the new D14? Is it beatable for characters who progress normally through the dungeons?

i ran through it at lvl 54ish but i was in the rusty set. its a nice looking dungon. but i have one ? 4 u sarah. y did u give that vampire that is in the dungon part of the castle dev crit? no one has a crit immunity. and his dc is 60. i died to dev crit every time i fought him. its illeagle for us to take it dev crit.... y give it to a monster. and i like nosferatu as the boss way better than drac. much harder of a fight. all in all sarah i think u did an amazing job on 14 and i am really looking forward to the quest part of the dungon.

and on the diffuculty lvl. like i said i was lvl 54 in the rusty set and i found some of it still very challenging. that vampire in the robe in the dungon was imposible for me to kill. that dev crit he does is jsut too much i think.

Are you talking about the elder vampire who spawns when you approach his sarcophagus?
