Please report monsters that are either too strong, two weak (for their dungeon) or are otherwise bugged. It seems some of the monsters are casting Gate, but the spell is failing. Anyone else having problems casting Gate?

Are you sure that you haven't scripted it uncastable without protection from evil? The spell itself is rather weak and lasts only for 4 mins (when you're at lvl 40)...

I did some rewriting of the Gate spell. There's always the risk that players may want to summon up hostiles. I made it so whoever casts the Gate spell is responsible for whatever the summon does. In other words, if the caster gets a hostile summon because the caster didn't have Protection from Evil, the summoned demon will attack any nearby creature. However, the caster is held responsible. For example, if the demon murders an NPC, the caster is sent immediately to prison.

Please test the script and note any issues. Thanks!

What do you think of the idea of just making the Gate spell like all others that don't require a prerequisite? It seems kind of foolish to mandate Protection from Evil (or Holy Aura).

I think th eprot from evil requirement was put there because you are "technically" gating a creature from one of the outer planes that is evil and you need the prot from evil spell to keep it from killing you. You should make it however best it suits you though. I like the idea that gate summons something powerful based on your alignment though.
